The Fireball is one of primary weapons of some of Gamera incarnations and several other characters such as Daimajin and the Heisei Yonggary and the Celestial Dragon, along with the Fire Breath.

Heisei Trilogy[]

Plasma Fireball[]

Gamera's special move, the Plasma Fireball (プラズマ火球,   Purazuma-Kakyū?) is a powerful ranged attack where Gamera shoots a condensed ball of fire created by converting plasma energy and oxygen.

High Plasma[]

A plasma fireball shot at an output of at least 120% its normal power. It was used in the first movie after absorbing fire from the explosion in the oil refinery and in the second after inhaling the oxygen rich atmosphere. The second instance showcased Gamera's lung power as his inhale created hurricane force winds.

Gamera the Brave[]

Fire Breath[]

Fireball[]

Avant Gamera can spit fireballs (火球,   Kakyū?) which are highly incendiary and deadly toward other monsters. This ability was utilized to kill one Original Gyaos during his 1973 battle against the creatures. His aim is impeccable in the version of the battle included in the tie-in manga Gamera 2006: Hard Link, with all four fireballs he shoots hitting a Gyaos. In the novelization Friends: Gamera the Brave, a sonic ray from a Gyaos slices off his lower jaw, leaving him unable to use this weapon.

GAMERA -Rebirth-[]

Magma Blaster[]

Alternatively known as the Flame Bullet or Flame Shot (火焔弾,   Kaendan?) or "Plasma Fireball" (プラズマ火球,   Purazuma-Kakyū?), it is the primal offensive technique of Gamera in the 2023 Netflix series GAMERA -Rebirth-.

It is powerful that Jiger who possesses a heat-resistant mucus still tends to avoid it. While it doesn't create a tremendous explosion unlike the Plasma Fireball in Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris, it still creates a powerful shockwave to fall down Jiger who tried to dodge it.

In the official novelization, it was alternatively described to possess a rapidly-spinning magma-like core infused with plasma energy and pulsating electricity. Due to this mechanism, it disables and penetrates energy shields of other monsters and severely damages them, and also damages nearby targets without directly hitting because of tremendous heat and pulsating electricity, enough for small monsters to die.

According to the novelization, Magma Blaster cannot be used underwater hence Gamera didn't have a chance to use it against Zigra before their battle on Tsushima. However, firing it at shallow depth still works as being seen during the battles against Guiron and Viras.

The Great Yokai War[]

Similar to a High Plasma used against a Legion Plant in Sapporo in Gamera 2: Attack of Legion and the Fire Breath in the 2015 short film, Black Tortoise in The Great Yokai War: Guardians Side Story: Heian Hundred Demon Tales fires an empowered version of fireball by inhaling the air.[1]

Iris[]

Iris utilizes a mimicked version of Plasma Fireball called Overboost Plasma (オーバーブースト・プラズマ,   Ōbābūsuto Purazuma?) by coping biological information of Gamera.

Daimajin[]

Yonggary[]

The 1999 incarnation of Yonggary also displayed the ability to produce fireballs from his mouth. It is unknown how many he can fire at any one time, but they possessed enough force to destroy jets and kill Cykor.

Cykor[]

Celestial Dragon[]

Miscellaneous[]

Triple Shots[]

Triple shots have been used on several occasions in the Heisei Trilogy and GAMERA -Rebirth-.

Homing Plasma[]

A scrapped technique called Homing Plasma (ホーミング・プラズマ,   Hōmingu Purazuma?), which was originally planned for Gamera 2: Attack of Legion and Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris, was later adopted for miscellaneous productions such as Gamera: 2000 and Gamera 4: Truth.

According to some of unused drafts for these films, it is presumably an evolved form of the Plasma Fireball that automatically tracks targets. Due to this, Gamera can further increase his combat prowess as once he launches the attack, he can shift targets and flies to there.
