Invisible Man Appears (透明人間現わる,   Tōmei Ningen Arawaru?) is a 1949 Japanese tokusatsu science-fiction film directed by Nobuo Adachi and Shigehiro Fukushima and based on H. G. Wells's 1897 book The Invisible Man. it is a horror story and an example of the tokusatsu (special effects) genre, starring Takiko Mizunoe, Ryūnosuke Tsukigata and Kichijiro Ueda.

Drawing its plot particularly from H.G. Wells's novel "The Invisible Man", unike the novel the film is set in 1949 where Jewel thieves become interested in an invisibility formula invented by Professor Nakazato and want to use his invention to acquire a diamond necklace called the "Tears of Amour".

Plot[]

The story begins when jewel thieves becomes interested in an invisibility formula invented by Professor Nakazato. The thieves kidnap the professor and want to use his invention to acquire a diamond necklace called the “Tears of Amour“. There are a lot of twists and turns in this film, as to who is the Invisible Man and why. The Japanese Invisible Man looks just like Universal’s 1933 version played by Claude Rains, with bandages and an overcoat. The formula has the same adverse symptoms which effect the nervous and drive the user insane.

Development[]

The Film was made by studying the universal movie work "Invisible Man" released in 1933, and it is common that a man with a bandaged face becomes transparent when untied However, in the case of Universal's work, the rampage is a little more modest in this work than the transparent human beings not only murder but also rampage such as train overturning.

The Film was initially tentatively titled Transparent Devil by Hisashi Okuda . Five Years after the film was made (1954) Eiji Tsuburaya help make a film Produced by Toho Based on The Same novel it was the Second ever Invisible Man film there where two more made in the 21 century both based on a manga called Oh! Invisible Man and Oh! Invisible Man The Invisible Girl appears!?.
