There are contrasting characteristics between Showa and Reiwa incarnations. Body coloration was changed from silver to golden. Showa Viras was defeated due to the temperature where Gamera took him to the stratosphere, while Reiwa Viras endures harsh environment of outer space and voluntary flied to chase children to the Moon. While both incarnations use their heads as the main weapons, Showa Viras used it as a melee weapon while Reiwa Viras fired an energy beam instead. Reiwa incarnation is a carnivorous monster to feed on humans unlike the original incarnation. Showa Viras impaled Gamera during the battle while Reiwa Viras was slaughtered by Gamera's charging.
